Marketing Challenge: Create a profitable business for a former high tech manager who wanted to become a nationally syndicated cartoonist. Business needed to fit an introverted style, financially support a growing family, and involve reasonable hours and work, so the client could be there for his family.
Marketing Coaching: Identified librarians as possible niche market for business, suggested building online community and generating passive revenue from online sales through marketing, advertising and professional speaking. [Note: Speaking is not something I generally recommend for introverts, and it was essential at the time for industry visibility.]
Now: Pioneering, web-based comics serving two niche markets, libraries and software. Thriving six-figure business based on specialized merchandise, self-published books, targeted advertising, and speaking engagements. International fan base, popular conference speaker.
